Opposite Origins (formerly ATLAS) are a four-piece band influenced mainly by alternative and
indie rock such as Biffy Clyro, Muse, Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys and Foo Fighters. Drawn as much to uncomplicated songwriting as
they are to musical pyrotechnics, Opposite Origins balance ambitious covers alongside stadium-rousing anthems. Regulars on the playlist include Muse’s progressive, synth-laden odyssey “Knights of
Cydonia”, Biffy Clyro’s jaggedly climactic “Bubbles”, Coldplay’s optimistic ballad “Fix You”, and Foo Fighter’s fanfare for the ordinary man “My Hero”.
Despite growing up only a few miles apart, frontman Ryan Skinner and guitarist/keyboardist Will Buchanan met over seven years ago at a Maidstone jam night (The Old House At Home). Finding immediately
that their music collections shared many of the same favourites, Ryan and Will have since built a steady roster of covers, gigging in pubs around Maidstone and Medway.
